Hello Corbin Creative Databases, LLC:
I noticed that you are located in Gaithersburg, and I am in Maryland so I thought you might be able to answer an easy question I have on PHP. I heard PHP is free. But why do the development programs for PHP cost money? Do you have any insight for me?
JT in Maryland
Hi JT,
When people say that PHP is free, they mean that it runs on a free server platform (Linux/Apache). This is in contrast to running on Windows Server which can be expensive. But programmers typically use a good (not for free!) development environment to write the PHP code. At CCD, LLC we use DreamWeaver. There are less expensive programs, but DreamWeaver has suited us well for years.
Let us know if we can help you with any of your computer consulting needs in Maryland!
